When you remove any document, the computer marks the area occupied by the document as free but not actually remove the document until a new one occupies the same area and therefore deletes the previous.

The disk scan can take a long time but you can reduce it a bit if you use the filter that takes the application and tells you for example if the size is larger or smaller than a given size, if I delete between certain dates, or if they contain a certain word on their behalf.
