Notepad + + 5.5: The notebook complete and advanced

Notepad + + 5.5 is open source code editor that supports syntax coloring for the following languages: C, C + +, Java, XML, HTML, PHP, Java Script, RC resource file, makefile, ASCII art file, doxygen, ini file, ASP, VB / VBS, SQL, Objective-C, CSS, Pascal, Perl and Python. It is written in C + +, has a beautiful interface predisposing to work, and there is full support for Drag'N'Drop.

Halfway between a notebook and an improved development environment Light, Notepad + + 5.5 is a powerful text editor and full of options.

The first thing that jumps out is the management of files, which in Notepad + + 5.5 tabs open in fully organized, in order to compare alternative text, line numbering, indentation and zoom to increase the font size. In addition to full-screen mode, Notepad + + becomes a floating note when you press F12, very useful to have the text always in sight.

But it all comes down to reading: the search and replace functions support regular expressions, while the Language menu enable syntax highlighting for nearly fifty programming languages. If the language you use does not appear in the list of Notepad + + 5.5, you can create a template.

To make matters worse, Notepad + + 5.5 is extended by plugins such as synchronization with FTP servers, the exchange control or self-completion. The TextFX, on the other hand, are applicable to text shortcuts such as management of lines, word count, deleting double spaces and so on.

Full and prompt, Notepad + + 5.5 consumes very little memory. It is the perfect replacement for Notepad. Some people find excessive abundance of features, preferring alternative minimalist, but it is almost essential for anyone who handles code and plain text daily.
