Opera Unite 10.10 Build 1792 Beta: Adding a server to the browser

Surf the Internet safer, faster and easiest way. The most full-featured and powerful Internet tool, Opera, includes Rop-Up blocking, tabbed browsing, integrated search and advanced features such as built-in e-mail program, RSS news and IRC chat. Just a few mouse clicks you can customize the appearance of the Opera as needed. If you have never used Opera, you can easily switch to it, it will import bookmark-s, contacts and correspondence from your current browser.

The traditional web browser is based on the premise of a series of Internet servers and clients, the browser, which connect to these. But Opera walked preparing something to get around to this view of the network.

I have submitted under the name Unite Opera and wants to be a simple way that anybody can turn your computer into a server, ie, forget the concept of servers "centralized" and that everyone can distribute content from your computer a very simple way.

Comes integrated in the latest beta of Opera 10 and to activate it, just download the application and must have a user on Opera.com, so that we can share content from our computer network. To do this, Opera Unite will give us a URL so we can distribute it to those who want to access that content.

But Opera Unite 10.10 Build 1792 Beta is not just a web server easy to install, but an application development platform. Therefore, we not only have the ability to view files in our contacts to give us access, but adds much more power.

As an example, applications or services that comes preinstalled ranging from a multimedia player, with which they connect can hear the music we have on our computer, to a post it online with those who can leave us notes, application sharing photos, a chat client or, indeed, a web server.

Opera Unite 10.10 Build 1792 Beta has a pair of clear disadvantages. The first is the need for our computer is running and the browser open in order to offer their content to our contacts. The second is the Operations Unit, as the URLs offered go through your server.

That yes, the direct connection is already back to our computer and, at least in applications that come standard, we have different privacy settings to control access to data, from allowing them to anyone who can not afford one, through the use of passwords to limit it.

Like any other platform, the grace of Opera will indeed Unite when more services are developed on it, although that is by default have a good range of opportunities to interact with other users. I do not think that is the revolution of the web that promise, but certainly a great innovation from one of the best browsers that do exist and, despite that, remains one of the lowest market share.
