Asymptote 2.04: Language for vector graphics description

Screen shot Asymptote 2.04

Asymptote 2.04 is a language for vector graphics description, developed by Andy Hammerlindl, John C. Bowman ( University of Alberta ), and Tom Prince, which provides a natural environment based on coordinates for technical drawing.

Labels and equations are typeset with LaTeX to output PostScript quality. It is inspired by MetaPost but uses style syntax C + + . Provides a standard to typeset mathematical figures. It is oriented to mathematics (eg rotation of vectors by complex multiplication , and uses the simplex method and deferred drawing to solve general restrictions between fixed-size objects (labels and arrowheads) and objects that have to be scaled to the size of the figures.

Asymptote 2.04 complete generalizes the algorithms of construction of roads MetaPost to three dimensions, compiled code commands in virtual machine to speed without sacrificing portability, and the command language itself implements high-level graphics, allowing them to be easily adapted specific applications.
