K-Lite Codec Pack 5.1.0 Basic in its basic version is a free collection of the most common codecs for playback of multiple media files. To this end and with a single installation you can select the entire list the codecs you need to install, fully configurable, and according to the selections that you can play certain file types.

K-Lite Codec Pack 5.1.0 Basic contains, inter alia, the following codecs and filters divided into subcategories:

* DirectShow filters for video coding:
- XviD

* DirectShow filters for audio encoding:
- MP3 (Fraunhofer)
- AC3 (AC3Filter)

* DirectShow Filters for subtitles:
- DirectVobSub (aka VSFilter)
